Retail Alert: Wrangler Arrives at Target With Its First Women’s Collection

The Western heritage brand enters a new retail arena with accessible denim, modern silhouettes and a women first expansion.

Wrangler has officially arrived at Target.

On September 5, the heritage Western brand introduced women’s apparel at Target for the first time through a limited-time fall collection. The launch is accompanied by an expanded assortment of Wrangler menswear and is available in Target stores and online.

The collection brings familiar Western design codes into a more accessible fashion space. Shoppers will find ’70s-inspired matching sets, high-rise bootcut jeans, wide-leg flares, denim vests, Western graphic tees and a statement denim trench finished with faux-fur trim.

Apparel begins at $35, while accessories start at $10. A second women’s-only Wrangler collection is scheduled to arrive on September 27. View the official Target announcement.

Why It Matters

Wrangler entering Target is more than a seasonal retail collaboration. It reflects the continued movement of Western style into the center of American fashion.

Elements once associated primarily with ranches, rodeo arenas and specialty Western stores are now reaching consumers through one of the country’s most recognizable mass retailers. For Wrangler, the placement creates a new entry point for shoppers who may admire Western fashion but have not previously purchased from a traditional Western retailer.

It also signals continued investment in women’s fashion. Instead of simply adapting menswear, the Target collection is built around contemporary silhouettes designed specifically for women—from fitted vests and coordinated sets to statement outerwear and fashion-forward denim.

The WESTWARD FOUR View

Accessibility does not have to erase authenticity.

Wrangler’s challenge will be maintaining the heritage and credibility that built the brand while welcoming a wider fashion audience. If done well, the Target collection can introduce more women to Western style and encourage them to explore the culture, craftsmanship and communities behind it.

Western fashion has never belonged to only one kind of woman or one kind of store. Its expansion is proof that the influence of the West continues to move far beyond the arena.

The question is no longer whether Western style has entered the mainstream.

It is where it will go next.
