Before the businesses, the stages, and the magazine features, there was a little girl on the Navajo Nation listening to her grandpa sing.

This is my story of growing up Diné and Black, falling in love with a Houston cowboy, and finding my own voice in country music and Western culture. It’s about the people who raised me, the dreams Dennis and I built together, and the laughter, love, and loss along the way.

I wrote these pages to share the woman behind the work—and the music that has been with me all along.
