Ten days in Las Vegas can move fast. Between the rodeo, Cowboy Christmas, shopping, autograph sessions, watch parties and events throughout the city, a little preparation can help you enjoy the experience without feeling overwhelmed.
Download or Update the NFR Experience App
The official NFR Experience app is designed to help fans manage tickets, explore schedules and stay connected to NFR information throughout Las Vegas.
The app is currently listed as the NFR
Experience App 2025, and the 2026 update has not yet been released. Check the official NFR website and your device’s app store closer to December, then download or update the app when the newest version becomes available.
If you have NFR tickets, sign in and save them to your phone’s digital wallet before leaving the hotel. Cellular service may slow down around crowded venues, and screenshots may not always work for entry.
Download Cowboy+
Cowboy+ is the Cowboy Channel’s streaming platform for professional rodeo and Western sports. Download the app and create or confirm your account before the first round so you are ready to follow the competition and watch available NFR coverage.
Streaming access and subscription requirements may vary, so verify that your selected plan includes the NFR before December not five minutes before the rodeo begins.
Plan More Than the Rodeo
The NFR experience extends far beyond the Thomas & Mack Center. Cowboy Christmas, the Junior World Finals, contestant appearances, live music, fashion events, shopping and nightly celebrations take place throughout the city.
Review the schedule before your trip and save the events you do not want to miss but leave room for something unexpected. Two venues that appear close on a map can still require significant travel time in Las Vegas.
Know How You Are Getting Around
Traffic increases around the Thomas & Mack Center and major Western events. Check shuttle routes, rideshare locations, parking information and venue policies before heading out.
Give yourself more time than you think you need, especially before each nightly performance. Choose a meeting place for your group in case anyone gets separated.
Prepare for Long Days and Cold Nights
You may spend hours walking through convention centers before heading directly to the rodeo or an evening event. Wear comfortable boots, dress in layers and carry a portable phone charger.
Las Vegas is in the desert, and December evenings can be cold. Bring a coat even if your outfit looked perfect without one when you packed it.
Make Dinner Reservations Early
Popular restaurants fill quickly during the NFR. Reserve important dinners before arriving, especially if you are traveling with a group. Keep a few flexible meal options saved for the nights when your plans change.
Pace Yourself
Ten days in Vegas is a marathon. Drink water, eat real meals, rest when you can and look out for the people traveling with you. Keep your phone charged, watch your drinks and avoid carrying every valuable item you packed.
Leave Room in Your Suitcase
Cowboy Christmas alone can test your luggage allowance. If you plan to shop, pack an extra foldable bag or leave space for boots, hats, jewelry, apparel and discoveries from Western makers.
The best NFR trips are not necessarily the ones with the fullest schedules. They are the ones where you arrive prepared, remain flexible and have enough energy to enjoy the moments you came to experience.
